It's the Last Dinner on the Titanic, and so what is everyone smiling about? This past Saturday night, we held our first LDT event at the Stegmaier Mansion in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and it was just a great time for all. Jody Klocko and Jodi McMillan prepared all 7 servings enjoyed by our guests. The menu, which can be scene on this same blog, was taken from a book by the same title.
The picture to the left shows Jody and Jodi greeting the guests in the Ladies Parlor. They were very interested in the response from our guests. As expected the response was a rousing 3 thumbs up; that's better than 2, of course, of the same appendage.
The Victoriana Lady - Lisa Griffiths-Lewis - dressed the part of a 1st class passenger, and provided all with a greater insight of the time formally called Edwardian, a.k.a.. the Titanic era. She read from survivor accounts written shortly after the tragedy, and showed our guests pieces from her collection related to the sinking on the high seas of April 1912.
The dates in April are sold out, but we are hosting one more on June 19th called - The Last Luncheon on the Titanic - and we do hope to add many more to our calendar leading up to 100th anniversary in 2012.
