This is the last of a collection of letters between two people written in the 1920's. It may be the last but, actually, it was probably the first written by Doctor Naaman Burkhead to Ms. Nevada Prawitz. It's sweet and gentle compared with the directness of later correspondence. But then, the Doc came east to start on his career while Nevada remained in Kansas City. Long distance is tough enough today, let alone 90 years ago when the post was the primary mode of communication. Telephone calls cost too much and were somewhat unreliable.
It was a nice collection. Nevada went on to marry Irven Linscomb in 1935. It seems as though they resided in Kansas City for quite some time. Nevada passed away in 1997.
I just found the following, very interesting, link:
Doctor Naaman Burkhead was born 06 November 1898 passed away in 1983 in Jefferson, Kentucky. There is no mention of a marriage or children.
